Mike’s Organic Featured on Martha Stewart’s Blog

Martha Stewart has long been a pioneer of farm-fresh cooking, from the inception of her magazine, to her television shows, to her countless recipes and cookbooks, so we were thrilled when her team stopped by Mike’s Organic warehouse a few weeks ago to get a taste of how we are supporting local farms across the Northeast.

After meeting with Mike Geller, founder and owner of Mike’s Organic, Martha expressed her amazement with our ability to partner with local farmers, fishermen, artisans and producers, and deliver their goods to our hundreds of customers weekly. “Transparency and connection are paramount,” Mike says, and is a top priority when connecting consumers to those that grow, make, raise and sometimes catch the foods they eat.

“This Romanesco is from Lakeside Organic Gardens in California. Romanesco is an edible flower from the family that includes broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and cabbage. It tastes very similar to cauliflower, but with a slightly nuttier, earthier flavor,” Martha writes.

“I always enjoy learning about organic farms, stands and specialty markets – it is not only fun to see what others sell, but also very inspiring to learn how these entrepreneurs select their produce and promote sustainable farming practices,” Martha writes in a post on her blog, highlighting her experience working with Mike’s Organic.

Martha Stewart’s bounty from Mike’s Organic

In order to test out the delivery service herself, Martha received a bounty of fresh produce, including some exceptionally juicy blood oranges, a colorful bouquet of rainbow chard, and a tin of caviar — because who doesn’t love caviar?

We are so excited to be featured by Martha Stewart on providing healthy and delicious foods to our clients, and we look forward to growing our relationship with her on new projects to come.
